“Mary of Nazareth:” See Salvation History through Mary’s Eyes

From the moment “Mary of Nazareth” explodes on the screen, you know that the movie you are about to see is going to be as special as the woman it portrays – and it does not disappoint. Imagine seeing Salvation History through the eyes of the Mother of God! EWTN airs “Mary of Nazareth” in two parts during the Christmas season:  Part 1 airs 8 p.m. ET, Saturday, Dec. 29; Part 2 airs 8 p.m. ET, Saturday, Jan. 5. This coincides with the Feast of the Holy Family on December 30 and the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God on January 1.



Directed by Giacomo Campiotti (“Bakhita,” “Doctor Zhivago,” “St. Giuseppe Moscati”), written by Francesco Arlanch (“Restless Heart,” “Pius XII,” “Pope John Paul II”), and filmed on location in Europe with beautifully realistic settings, this film is sure to impress, intrigue, and inspire you!



You will be surprised by the tension, the drama, the realistic dialogue and the beautifully acting! You’ll watch Joseph court Mary, her joy after the Angel Gabriel’s visit, and her father’s outrage, her mother’s terror when they discover she is pregnant, as well as Joseph’s disappointment, and later wonder, as he comes to believe that Mary is carrying the Son of God. You’ll also witness the birth of Jesus, the murder of the nation’s first born sons, the flight to Egypt, the death of Herod, and the plotting of the evil Herodius – and that’s just Part 1! In addition to Mary, you will get to know Joseph, King Herod, Mary Magdalen, and many others.
